Donald Trump's Foreign Policy Speech [REVIEW]
After listening to Donald Trump's foreign policy speech and researching into vairious news articles, it is found that Trump's foreign policy speech is nothing more than half truths spoken by the candidate. However, this is nothing new because we know that Trump constantly lies in his speeches to pander to his supporters.
Donald Trump starts off with blaming Obama and Hillary Clinton for the creation of ISIS once again, and questioned their "physical stamina" to deal with and eradicate ISIS. He later stated that he would put an end to the nation building that we continue to do globally.
Donald Trump went on to criticize the invasion of Iraq by stating that he was against the Iraq invasion from the start, and that he told the media that we needed to keep the oil for ourselves; however Donald Trump made claims in the past that the Iraq war was the right decision and he had a full swing of support for it. Later Trump decided to bash the war in Libya and government overthrow in Egypt in which he clearly supported.
Donald Trump went on to criticize Hillary Clinton and her ties to countries that deny women the basic rights of living, and he claimed that we should have better relations with Russia, a country who condemns the idea of gay marriage by prosecuting gays. This speech was filled with nonsense that has helped Trump gain traction in the presidential race from the starting point; however, now he has dug himself into a little rut that has been caused by his aggressive rhetoric. The only thing that was refreshing about his foreign policy speech was that he talked slower, focused more on the topic, and acted slightly more presidential. Big props to Trump for that!
Politifact has it written on their analysis..
“Political correctness has replaced common sense in our society,” Trump said. “Crime has risen to levels that no one thought ... they would ever, ever see. It is a catastrophe. We have enough problems in our country. We don’t need another one.”
Recounting a series of recent terrorist attacks in the U.S. and Europe, Trump said the U.S. cannot let the evil actions of the Islamic State continue, nor can the nation allow “the hateful ideology of radical Islam” to pervade across the world.
“We will defeat radical Islamic terrorism, just as we have defeated every threat we’ve faced at every age and before,” Trump said. “But we will not — we will not, remember this — defeat it with closed eyes or silenced voices.”
After repeatedly hurling accusations last week at Clinton and Obama, stating they were the “founders” of the Islamic State, Trump turned it down a notch on Monday but still blamed them for enabling the terrorist group.
“The rise of ISIS is the direct result of policy decisions made by President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton,” Trump said, abandoning at least temporarily his moniker “Crooked Hillary.”
Trump proceeded to talk about his plans to create a coalition with Egypt and Jordan to stop the spread of "Radical Islam", but he claimed that unlike Clinton his administration won't reveal their plans. Trump ended his speech by saying that this is his pledge to the American people!
